# Sender ID

Sender ID displays who sent this message. With Sender ID, you can send SMS from a custom sender (brand name or website name) instead of a random string of numbers.

If you have not registered a Sender ID, YCloud will randomly assign an ID for you to send messages. Therefore, you can send messages without registering.

The rules vary greatly from country to country, and not all countries offer Sender ID registration. Some countries charge for the ID, subject to the local operator's policies. Therefore, please check the [country restrictions](https://help.ycloud.com/en/collections/1636318-country-restrictions) or contact our customer service before submitting an ID.

### **Create My Sender ID**

**Step 1:**

Although the registration of Sender ID is free, the service is for customers with an account balance of over $100. Therefore, you should at least top up $100.

**Step 2:**

Go to Integration > SMS > [Sender ID](https://www.ycloud.com/console/#/app/sms/senderID).

You need to provide the following information:

1. Sender ID;
2. Target country;
3. Company website;
4. Typical template;
5. Industry;

**Step 3:**

**Submit the Sender ID after confirming it is correct, and wait for registration and review. Review times may vary by region.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpdocs.ycloud.com/help-center/integrations/channels/global-sms/sms-features/sender-id.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
